Qualitative
primary education is the bedrock of educational development.
This paper examined the contributions of private and public
primary schools to educational development in Nigeria. In the
process, private and public primary schools were compared on
different variables such as size, quantity, equity, efficiency
and quality as indicators of educational development. The paper
concluded that both private and public primary schools
contribute immensely on the different indicators to educational
development in Nigeria.
