Abstract

The development in Information Technology has changed the lives of many people in the world. It is one of the most remarkable things human beings have ever made. The impact of information technology, like many other human inventions, has given both positive and negative impacts to human life. It has changed the life style of many people. Tim Berners-Lee, who is the inventor of World Wide Web, stated that the web is more a social creation than a technical one. This is to say that the impact IT has on the world today has put more serious emphasis toward the change of human social life than the change of technology (Crystal 2001).

Keywords: Identity, Postmodernism, Facebook, Youth culture.
